Opportunity2 is a regional economic development organization that consists of economic development offices of ten Southeast Iowa Counties, including Jefferson County, as well as local utility companies and Indian Hills Community College. This ten county region is comprised of Appanoose, Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lucas, Mahaska, Monroe, Van Buren, Wapello, and Wayne Counties in southern Iowa. Together, Opportunity2 coordinates efforts to market SE Iowa development opportunities to new and expanding businesses. Opportunity2 offers resources to demographic information, site and building database, workforce data, and partner links. This project is the brainchild of the Area 15 Regional Planning Commission (RPC) which began operations in July 1974 as the Council of Governments (COG) organization serving the local jurisdictions of service delivery area 15.

The Fairfield Convention & Visitors Bureau is a private, non-profit organization established to promote and champion efforts to make the Fairfield an overnight visitor destination. The mission of the Fairfield Convention & Visitors Bureau is to stimulate the economic vitality of Fairfield with a travel and tourism strategy and establish Fairfield and Jefferson County as a unique travel destination.
