Setting a New Standard: Two Neighborhood Revitalization Homes on the Market in October 2025

Grow Fairfield is proud to announce that our Neighborhood Revitalization homes will be on the Market in October 2025 — a milestone that represents far more than a new address. This home is a strategic investment in Fairfield’s future, designed to revitalize neighborhoods, expand housing options, and catalyze private development.
Located at 700 S 7th Street and 504 S 6th Street, the homes were built through the Homes for Iowa program and installed on a permanent foundation in one of Fairfield’s legacy neighborhoods. It features a three-bedroom, two-bath layout, open-concept living, energy-efficient systems, durable finishes, and a detached two-car garage — all constructed to Iowa residential building codes using standard materials and skilled labor.
Built to Last — and Built with Purpose
While the home was assembled off-site using a precision-built model, it is not a manufactured or mobile home. It is a permanent, code-compliant residence designed to last for generations. These homes are built by trained tradespeople through a workforce development program at Newton Correctional Facility, offering both quality craftsmanship and a meaningful social impact.
A Catalyst for Neighborhood Investment
Building a new home in an older neighborhood is a bold move. It often carries financial risk, as the new home’s value may exceed surrounding properties and be considered an “outlier” in tax assessments. But the impact goes far beyond the numbers.
By placing two new homes in this neighborhood, located near schools, daycare and Jefferson County Park, Grow Fairfield is setting a new standard — one that encourages homeowners to invest in their own properties and inspires developers to take on nearby fixer-uppers. This kind of visible, intentional investment is contagious, and it’s central to our mission of increasing housing stock in Fairfield.
Transparent Sale Process
Offers on the home will be accepted in accordance with Iowa law, with a transparent review process. Additional open houses will be scheduled soon, and we invite the public to tour the home and see the quality for themselves. Tours available by appointment: 641.472.3436
Join the Movement
This home is part of a broader revitalization strategy led by Grow Fairfield, in partnership with the City of Fairfield and local donors. The proceeds from this sale will be reinvested in more homes to be built in 2026 on 5th Street. We’re transforming vacant lots into vibrant, livable spaces — and we’re just getting started.

“I am originally from a small town in Iowa, similar in size to Fairfield, which made me comfortable relocating my family here. Our children have been in the Fairfield School District for over 10 years now and we know that we are going to be here for the long haul. ”
