Grow Fairfield Adds Associate Director, Julie Albert

Julie AlbertFAIRFIELD, IA – January 3, 2023 – Curtis Smith, President of Fairfield Economic Development Association dba Grow Fairfield, proudly announces that the Board of Directors has hired Julie Albert for a new role with the organization, Associate Director. She will be joining the recently appointed new Executive Director, Ed Malloy.

Curtis shared “Julie’s background in corporate leadership, business development and strategic planning, combined with her passion for community involvement and economic development makes her a perfect fit for this role.  The Grow Fairfield Board of Directors is excited to see great things from this new partnership.”

Julie comes to her new role after a successful career in the staffing and recruitment field.  In addition, she was actively involved in multiple projects with the City of Marion, including the Marion Chamber of Commerce Leadership in Action Program and Community Ambassadors, as well as a member of the Marion City Hotel/Motel Advisory Board.  Jill Ackerman, Marion Chamber of Commerce President, shares “Fairfield has hired an incredibly smart and talented leader in Julie Albert. Julie was involved with the Marion Chamber as the Branch Manager of Robert Half Inc. She went through the Chamber’s Leadership Program and then stepped up as a volunteer captain. She implemented some stellar changes to our curriculum and re-energized the community around the program. Julie will bring energy and enthusiasm to the table and will be “all in” for Fairfield, Iowa”.

Born and raised in Iowa, Julie recently relocated from Marion to Southeast Iowa where her family (including husband Travis and 2 young daughters) have launched their own business, are enjoying managing an acreage and are eager to get involved in their “forever home of a community”.

Julie shared her excitement about her new role, saying ” I am honored to partner with Ed Malloy to achieve continued growth of Fairfield’s local economy. I believe ‘the people of a community’ are the most important resource that impacts economic development. Therefore, I am eager to connect with all members to better understand business goals, enhance collaboration and develop strategic plans for continual success of Fairfield’s beloved community. ”
