Jefferson County Health Center’s (JCHC’s) mission is to optimize the health and well-being of the people and communities they serve through patient-centered, high quality, and compassionate services. They are a non-profit, critical access hospital with modern facilities, conveniently located on Highway 1 in Fairfield. Built in 2009, the JCHC main campus includes:

In 2021, JCHC expanded their reach to Richland, Iowa, where they operate JCHC Richland Clinic 5 days per week, increasing healthcare access to northern Jefferson, southeastern Keokuk and southwestern Washington counties. With nearly 30 full-time providers and dozens of visiting specialists, JCHC offers primary care, inpatient care, surgical care, and much more. Their 100+ year history is focused on providing high quality, patient-centered care with compassion at the heart of every decision they make. As one of the largest employers in Fairfield, JCHC has been named an Iowa Top Workplace by The Des Moines Register seven times, most recently in 2021.
