This will be a period of renewed and new-found levels of community pride, entrepreneurship, and neighborhood development. URGENT HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
Grow Fairfield will be a convener, innovator, problem-solver, supporter, and driver of the community’s aggressive and proactive housing and related infrastructure development over the next five years.
GOAL: Take a leading role in facilitating a major, new housing subdivision that meets Fairfield’s pressing demand for new market rate and workforce housing.
GOAL: Annual community-wide development of ten new single-family, mixed-use homes, and/or infill developments, as well as 10 new rental units, and one downtown housing project in Fairfield.
ASSERTIVE BUSINESS RETENTION & EXPANSION
Grow Fairfield will drive business retention and expansion for the next five years. To accomplish this, our Executive Director will meet with 40 Grow Fairfield members and non-member businesses annually to understand their needs, opportunities, and challenges, build trust, and connect businesses to local, state, and federal resources as appropriate.
STRATEGIC BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & ATTRACTION
Grow Fairfield will serve as a convener of multiple organizations working together to elevate the community as a prime location for businesses and entrepreneurs that complement our existing business, industry, and manufacturing sectors.
GOAL: Challenge the Fairfield community to capitalize on and expand its nationally recognized reputation for entrepreneurship.
GOAL: Market the Highway 34 Industrial Park and other commercial real estate to secure new tenant business to enhance Fairfield’s existing business and industry.
COMPETITIVE RETENTION & RECRUITMENT OF TALENT
Grow Fairfield will support businesses and other organizations in their efforts to retain and attract talent to the city.
GOAL: Serve as a local resource and reference for employers and partner organizations working to retain and attract workers assertively.
THRIVING ORGANIZATION
Grow Fairfield will be well positioned and supported to lead economic development efforts through strategic levels of staffing, funding, asset allocation, promotion, programming, and board management.
GOAL: Secure annual funding to enable Grow Fairfield to compete in attracting and retaining three highly-qualified, full-time professionals.
GOAL: Maintain a well informed, equipped, connected, and supported Board of Directors that represent residents, businesses, and community/economic development related organizations in Fairfield.
