Internal & External Marketing
Grow Fairfield will work to: improve the quality and depth of available commercial real estate/property information maintained by Grow Fairfield on GrowFairfield.com; develop a magazine- style community reference guide with possible delivery on a flash drive and pdf copy on GrowFairfield.com; develop a working relationship with local real estate brokers/agents to gather information more quickly and improve the quality of information gathered; maximize the efficiency and use of GrowFairfield.com; update external marketing material; develop an internal marketing plan for communication with members and the community.
COMMUNITY development
Grow Fairfield will work to: address the physical condition and aesthetic appeal of downtown storefronts and signage with the City of Fairfield and Chamber; conduct a housing needs survey of the City of Fairfield; assist the City of Fairfield in the development of the south and east entrances to the city; conduct an in-depth study to evaluate Fairfield’s available industrial and commercial buildings.
EDUCATION / WORKFORCE development
Grow Fairfield will work to: strike strategic relationships with the Fairfield Community School District, the Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment, Indian Hills Community College, Maharishi International University and other educational institutions; develop a program targeting recent graduates of Fairfield high schools; investigate the feasibility of facilitating Grow Fairfield’s participation in local school and job fairs; support Project Lead the Way in Fairfield schools; cooperate with Indian Hills Community College, Fairfield Community School District and surrounding school districts to develop a Career Academy; investigate the feasibility of facilitating teacher tours of local businesses and industries.
Advocacy
Grow Fairfield will work to: maintain a partnership with the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee by maintaining Grow Fairfield representation on the Committee; with the Chamber, craft membership surveys delivered to Grow Fairfield and Chamber members to identify issues of primary concern; endorse and/or deliver addendum to the Chamber Legislative Agenda; participate in an annual visit to the State Capital; facilitate conversation with interested parties concerning city/county/state/federal issues; periodically take positions on issue of vital importance to economic development; develop relationships with local elected officials; inform elected officials on issues pertaining to economic development.
New Business & Industry
Grow Fairfield will work to: identify targeted businesses and industries; continue to promote Project Grow Your Own; continue participation in the Community Venture Network through Opportunity 2; research and investigate the feasibility of developing a sustainable industrial park.
Existing Business & Industry
Grow Fairfield will work to: conduct a Fairfield Existing Business Initiative(FEBI)Survey in 2012 and deliver report to the community by February 2013; undertake a supplemental short- form business survey in 2013; maintain a dialogue with Fairfield businesses and industries through staff and Board contacts; facilitate existing business and industry expansion projects; facilitate an annual CEO roundtable.
